Sally started her college consulting business in 2010 after spending several years in communications, recruiting and career counseling roles.
After sending her two sons off to college, Sally realized that for the first time in years, she had some extra time. Her daughter was still in high school, but she realized that not only had they all survived the college process, they had learned a great deal about how to do it efficiently, effectively and without (too much) emotion. She now helps many sophomores, juniors and seniors and their parents by making a plan – getting them organized, discussing career paths, selecting schools, reviewing essays and the common app, and preparing for campus interviews.
By day, Sally is the Director of Post-Graduate Planning at the Olin College of Engineering – a small, new school in Needham, MA that is making its mark by re-inventing engineering education. In that role, Sally and her colleagues work closely with students and alumni to help them find their passion and advance their careers. They work with employers all over the country to facilitate recruiting events and workshops, aiding in all aspects of the job search and graduate school application process. With the support of Sally and her team, 73% of Olin students secured a technical internship or research assignment last summer.
Before Sally joined Olin, she spent 22 years in various roles at Bose Corporation from sales to advertising to human resources. From 2000 – 2007, Sally designed and implemented the University Relations program at Bose, recruiting top talent from college campuses nationwide.
